An old bit of rope walks into a bar, bartender yells "We don't serve rope here!", rope goes outside, puts himself in a loop, messes up his hair and goes back into the bar, bartender yells "ain't you that rope that just walked in?" Show more

For April Fool's day: Amuse, don't confuse

Example: last year I put googly eyes on a bunch of stuff (The TV, the fridge, microwave, canned food, etc). It made my partner laugh, and it was a joke/surprise too.

One year my mom served us "fried eggs" that were a half peach with whipped cream.

Most people don't like to be confused intentionally, or to be scared/startled.

But you can do April Fool's "pranks" that are actually funny. Most people aren't against that.

one day bumble is working the successful farm big town has become
Raiders approach, the alarm is sounded,
when the dust clears she notices an injured raider
bending over her to see if there is anything she can do she spots something odd
the raider has an identical necklace to her
Bumble takes out her own necklace, and whispers "mom?"
and the raiders eyes open for a moment,
looking directly into hers

So I was playing fallout last night, and thinking where do the children of little lamplight come from?
Decided that its raider parents, knowing their lifestyle is dangerous, now picturing a lamplight tradition where weaned 6 month old babies are left at the door, wrapped in rags, with a momento to identify them should their mum ever come back, just like the foundling hospital

good morning and happy Easter!

@justjem The bird site possible should be renamed the 'creepymen' site....

It feels important to be there for the people who cant, or dont want to be out, whom invisibility keeps safe
Being out is not morally superior
You are valid too

the-pool.com/life/life-honestl part of why i was rarely posting on the bird site, a few creepy men woul dhave liked it if i said "today i yawned and farted"

this made me giggle (marked as sensitive cos some people might be reminded of intensive comments, demands from cis het ppl that they talk about their genital/transition/sex life

#TDOV2018 #TransDayOfVisibility

Public Service Announcement: For those who haven't, this is the last day you can bank this financial year's Trans Lobby/Big Pharma payoff cheques. If you do not, then it will roll into next financial year's calculations.

If you have not received your cheque, please, do not worry. It's yet another bogus conspiracy theory dreamt up by the usual 'phobes.

i hope their editorial board was deeply embarrassed about this error

I actually found myself thinking with enthusiasm , I will check in on mastodon this morning, cant think of the last time I thought that about the bird site

so, if a tweet is unlisted it goes just to this instance? I like this place so much

sometimes I write poems

Sitting in Asda carpark
In that moment
When you wake from a dream
Before turning over
To return to those distant shores

Sitting in Asda carpark
Those sleepless hours
Where the darkest fears chased
You across the night sky
fade out of memory

Sitting in Asda Carpark
The cares of middle age
Replaced with the carefree
Laughter that only
The young can take for granted

Sitting in Asda carpark
Taking breath
Before returning
To those blessed lotus eating
Shores

Nobody knows about my man.
They think he's lost on some horizon.
And suddenly I find myself
Listening to a man I've never known before,

Telling me about the sea,
All his love, 'til eternity.
